Our Story

Hello, and welcome to BDifferent!

I’m Yekaterina, and I’d like to share my journey with you.

This company was created by a dancer who made her dream come true. Growing up in a city with limited opportunities, I was never able to fully and professionally pursue dance till I moved to China. While getting my Management degree at UIBE University, I stumbled upon a Latin dance school, Phoenix Dance School, where I spent the next 10 years honing my skills and training around the world. My first love was always Hip Hop, but my experiences at Phoenix Dance School allowed me to explore and fall in love with Latin dance.

Throughout my journey, I was fortunate to teach, travel, and immerse myself in the vibrant world of dance. However, life threw a curveball when I moved to the USA on a tour, and Covid happened. I found myself in a new country with just one packed suitcase in 2020, leaving everything behind. Despite the challenges, I met wonderful people and got introduced to many different dance styles, which fueled my love for cultures and music.

Unfortunately, at the age of 23, I suffered an injury that caused recurring pain every couple of years. In 2022, a severe fall during a dance trick led to a significant injury that changed my body and forced me to stop dancing completely. It was devastating, but it also opened a new chapter in my life.

In 2024, BDifferent was born. During my recovery, I delved into extensive research and found a way to combine my other passions – creating and designing. Having crafted many of my clothes, costumes, paintings, and crafts, this was the perfect opportunity to stay connected to the dance world and continue being creative.
